flower-1If you haven’t had the chance yet, now is the perfect time to spring clean your finances, to make sure you are prepped for your summer plans.

Today we’re sharing 3 simple ways to help get your finances in order:

1. Dust off your budget

As we head into summer, your spending might increase. Any upcoming holidays or summer events - weddings and parties, for example - are likely to cause a spike in your spending, if you aren’t adequately prepared for them.
A simple way to alleviate any stress you might be feeling around your spring/summer spending is to take a look ahead at what you’ve got coming up in the calendar and adjust your budget accordingly. Reducing your budget in some areas might help with paying for those summer plans!

2. Check your payments

Look out for any recurring payments that shouldn’t be there, or any that you could save money on. For example, if you are paying for a monthly service like Spotify or Netflix, investigate whether it might be cheaper to switch to a family plan.

3. Clean up your clutterred-flower

If you’re spring cleaning your home in May, why not take the opportunity to clear out your paperwork?

De-cluttering any financial documentation could help give you better oversight of your finances. For example, sorting through our old piles of paperwork recently helped us to track down some of our past workplace pension pots.
